Bears training camp: Darnell Wright, Andrew Billings, Terell Smith exit practice

The Chicago Bears were back on the practice field Wednesday for a padded practice, which coach Matt Eberflus said would be a "thud session." Unfortunately, they didn't make it out unscathed.

According to the media in attendance, right tackle Darnell Wright, defensive tackle Andrew Billings and cornerback Terell Smith all exited practice on Wednesday with apparent injuries.

Wright returned to practice on Tuesday after missing the previous three, and he was in full pads for Wednesday's session. He exited during the first 11-on-11 period, where he was replaced by Larry Borom, who worked with the first-team offense for the duration of practice. Nicholas Moreano noted Wright looked to be a in pain for the previous couple of reps.

According to Zack Pearson, Billings exited practice after individual drills. He did not return. Billings was back at practice after missing some time.

Smith was shaken up after covering receiver DJ Moore during the 11-on-11 period, according to Brad Biggs. Trainer Andre Tucker was looking at his right side. Smith joins a growing list of banged up defensive backs, including Kyler Gordon, Tyrique Stevenson and Jaquan Brisker.

Other notable absences for Wednesday include right guard Nate Davis, defensive end Montez Sweat, running back Roschon Johnson, linebacker Noah Sewell and the aforementioned Gordon, Stevenson and Brisker.
