Bears RB D'Andre Swift urges teammates to be better focused

With potential changes looming around the Chicago Bears and their offensive coaching staff following another abysmal showing against the New England Patriots, one of their top players refused to put it all on coaches.

Speaking to the media on Monday afternoon, running back D'Andre Swift called for the team to have more sense of pride in their work.

"I'm just going to say that we can do a better job of focusing on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday," Swift said. "We can't just expect it to have it click on Sunday without seeing it done in those work days leading up to it. We just got to be more intentional about our work throughout the week and come here every day with a purpose."

It is pretty alarming to hear this lack of purpose and focus from this team throughout the week, which has certainly showed in the current three-game losing streak. There seems to be looming changes coming to the offensive coaching staff, but Swift refused to put blame on the coaches, saying that as a team the players need to execute better.

Making it a point to call out the intent, focus, and pride for the team during the week of practice leading up to the game suggests the Bears have lost all sense of preparation. There is no telling what comes next for the Bears when it comes to coaching and personnel decisions, but Swift calling for his teammates to be better prepared is beyond alarming.
