Chicago Bears rookie quarterback Caleb Williams is already setting NFL records, though this one may not elicit much of a reaction from the fans.

According to Zebra Technologies, Williams set an NFL record for most consecutive pass attempts without throwing a touchdown or interception. The rookie quarterback attempted 165 passes before ending the streak with a touchdown strike to DJ Moore in the fourth quarter against the Minnesota Vikings. He finished the day completing 32 of 47 passes for 340 yards and two scores.

The middling streak began back in London following Williams' fourth touchdown pass of the game and carried through nearly five full games before it ended. Williams was on the cusp of tying former Bears quarterbacks Gary Huff and Bobby Douglass with five straight games without a touchdown pass. Fortunately, that streak ended, while his interception-free streak remains intact.

In fact, Williams has the chance to make more NFL history this week. According to Windy City Gridiron's Jeff Berckes, Williams hasn't thrown a pick in 193 pass attempts and is just 18 away from tying Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray for the longest streak by a rookie.

It's good to see the Bears signal caller keep the ball out of harm's way, but he also needs to take chances for big plays. That seems to be happening with the offensive line fully healthy and working under offensive coordinator Thomas Brown. Hopefully, Williams can continue breaking barriers over the final six games of the season.
