Bears may avoid facing Titans WR DeAndre Hopkins in Week 1

The regular season is still more than a month away, but the Chicago Bears may have already caught a break for Week 1. ESPN's Turron Davenport is reporting Tennessee Titans wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins suffered a knee injury during practice this week that could sideline him anywhere between 4-6 weeks. The news was first reported by Paul Kuharsky.

Hopkins is entering his second season with the Titans and is coming off his best season since 2020. Last year, Hopkins caught 75 passes for 1,057 yards and 7 touchdowns. Despite the Titans bringing in receivers such as Calvin Ridley and Tyler Boyd, Hopkins is still the top option for quarterback Will Levis, and his absence would be a boost for the Bears defense.

There is still plenty of time until these two teams square off. Five and a half weeks to be exact, meaning a lot can happen between now and then. As Davenport puts it, the best-case scenario for Hopkins is that he's back in action come Week 1. If he's out, though, that's one less receiver to worry about for the Bears secondary, led by Jaylon Johnson, Tyrique Stevenson, Jaquan Brisker, and former Titan Kevin Byard. Hopkins' injury will be something to monitor as the regular season draws closer.
