Bears GM Ryan Poles addresses rumors of rift with president Kevin Warren
With the Chicago Bears concluding the 2024 season, general manager Ryan Poles had plenty to discuss in his end-of-year press conference on Tuesday. Whether it was from the lessons learned in a highly disappointing season, the upcoming roster questions going into the 2025 season, the extensive search for the team's next head coach, or addressing rumors about a rift, Poles discussed it all on Tuesday morning.
While Poles took his time answering each and every question directed his way, he also took time to address a rumor about himself and an apparent rift with president Kevin Warren. Calling the rumor of a rift between him and Warren "disappointing," Poles would vehemently deny any issue between the two of them, saying that they talk and work together nearly every single day.
"We spend almost every single day together talking about solutions and direction," Poles said Tuesday. "…It is so far from the truth, it's a little disappointing to be honest."
Addressing the rumor head on is a good move for Poles, who also had his future as a big topic of conversation not only when he was asked on it, but also when Warren and chairman George McCaskey were asked as well. The latter did not seem to think the GM's long-term future would impact the ongoing search for the team's next head coach after a very disappointing 2024 season.
