Bears G Nate Davis ruled out for Sunday's game vs. Patriots

The Chicago Bears will be extremely shorthanded on the offensive line for their Sunday afternoon game against the New England Patriots. Guard Nate Davis was a late addition to the injury report with a back issue that will sideline him for the game. He is the fourth offensive lineman that will be out due to injury.

Davis has not played for the Bears since Week 3, but had a chance to see the field with the Bears down multiple offensive linemen. Tackles Braxton Jones (knee), Kiran Amegadjie (calf), and Darnell Wright (knee) all were ruled out earlier in the week. The team may be planning to do some shuffling, like moving right guard Matt Pryor to right tackle, which would have opened the door for Davis. Instead, they are even thinner on the line and will need all hands on deck to protect quarterback Caleb Williams.

Davis is in his second season with the Bears after signing a three-year, $30 million deal last offseason. He lost his starting job to Pryor, though, and has been relegated to a backup role.

The Bears and Patriots kick off on Sunday at noon CT.
