Bears fans ready to welcome Ben Johnson to Chicago as head coach

The Chicago Bears were blown out by the Detroit Lions in a 34-17 loss Sunday at Soldier Field. And while Chicago is headed for an early offseason -- where they face some big questions, including at head coach -- there was reason to smile given the bright future of quarterback Caleb Williams and his potential next head coach.

Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson, considered the favorite for the Bears head coaching job, had his first informal interview in Week 16, where he showcased why he'd be the perfect guy to develop Williams and finally breathe life into what's historically been a putrid offense.

If Bears fans weren't excited about the possibility of Johnson as Chicago's next head coach, they certainly should be after Sunday's game, where Johnson showcased the NFL's top offense and a vision of what he could bring to the Bears.

According to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, Johnson is "intrigued" by the Chicago coaching vacancy, and ESPN's Courtney Cronin reported that Johnson is expected to interview for the opening this offseason. Is Johnson at the top of the Bears list? It certainly sounds like he is among fans.
