Bears fans react to Ryan Poles' end of year press conference
The Chicago Bears are in the middle of a crucial 2025 offseason, where there are plenty of looming decisions that need to be made to get this team back to their winning form.
General manager Ryan Poles met with the media for his end-of-year press conference, where he fielded questions for roughly 20 minutes about the 2024 season's failures, Caleb Williams, the head coach search and what it all means for the future.
As you can imagine, Bears fans had plenty of reactions to Poles' offseason press conference, where most were left unimpressed, wanting answers and not feeling confident about the direction of this team amidst an important offseason.
How Bears fans reacted to Ryan Poles' end-of-year press conference:
Lots of great questions from the #Bears media. Lots of vague and empty answers from Ryan Poles so far. We don’t need you to agree things went wrong Ryan. We need you to tell us why they went wrong.

Ryan Poles spent the majority of his presser with his arms behind his back.

When asked about Caleb’s disruptions and stress this season Ryan Poles asked
“what do you mean by that?”
I think the firing of the OC firing the head coach firing and the almost 70 sacks. Just a guess though. #DaBears #Bears— Clay Harbor (@clayharbs82) January 7, 2025
The Ryan Poles press conferences was weak. He’s not the dude

I’ve always been a big believer/optimistic about Ryan Poles. And I still am to a point. I thinks he has done some great things.
But even I will say some of the messaging is so recycled.
Just get the coach right. Pick up some pieces and get out of the way. #Bears— Nate (@SelfKidLocks) January 7, 2025
After the Ryan Poles presser I feel dummer . Dude is good a deflection.

Ryan Poles did not sound confident at all during that press conference.
Even seemed ignorant and defensive at times.
Asking “what turmoil” when a reporter presents him with a question about all the turmoil Caleb Williams had to face this season.

Ryan Poles sounded like the man in charge again. Have to believe he got some type of contract extension in order to be able to convince top coaches to come to Chicago #BearDown

Non answer by Ryan Poles on the failure to build the offensive line up… yea it might be over
— Bear Down Brodie (@BearDownBrodie) January 7, 2025
I’m trying my best to make it through this Ryan Poles press conference. I’m not sure he’s the guy that can find the answers anymore. If any of these other coaching candidates have any suggestions for gym, I think we need to hear them out.

this ryan poles interview is making me cringe

It's a bad sign that Ryan Poles thinks some of the biggest issues for this team were small details like pre-snap penalties.
While they should have been weeded out, these are not the root causes of the failure that was the 2024 Chicago Bears.
I didn't get a word count for this…— ChicagoKnowsBall (@top_ballknower) January 7, 2025
Body language experts would have a field day once again with Ryan Poles’ press conference. #Bears

I trust that Ryan Poles will get the job done and turn things around for the good. He’s a smart and talented man who hopefully will have complete control as a general manager.
The Chicago Bears are in good hands I believe. 🐻⬇️ #DaBears pic.twitter.com/YjCpHZRs0J— TMY 🐻⬇️ (@Terence_M_Young) January 7, 2025
Did Ryan Poles really just ask for clarification on what the reporter meant when he said that Caleb’s rookie season was subjected to disruption and stress? pic.twitter.com/l6cl90JtaX

These questions suck.
Ask Ryan Poles point blank:
Why did you let Caleb Williams get sacked 70 times which nearly broke the NFL record?— 🗽Sam (@PolesIsNotHim) January 7, 2025
#Bears GM Ryan Poles sounds like a college student going into his sophomore year having realized that he needs to learn how to learn. Really wish he'd gone through that experience in a different job.

Has Ryan Poles taken any accountability for this shit show at all? Man loved to weasel out of responsibility.
