Bears fans break out in "Fire Matt Eberflus" chant during loss to Patriots

Football in Chicago has hit an absolute low, making rock bottom feel like a place of comfort. During the Patriots thrashing of the Bears at Soldier Field on Sunday, fans broke out in a chant to fire head coach Matt Eberflus before the game was over.

Allowing six or more sacks in back-to-back games for the first time since 1993, the Bears have not only embarrassed themselves, but their fanbase, their players, and are a laughing stock of organization right now. The calls for Eberflus' job are no longer coming from the media anymore, they're happening in the stands, which should tell the decision makers all they need to know.

“Just get back to work," Eberflus said of the chants calling for his job. "I know this is part of the job.”

From the chants, to the masks, Bears fans are more passionate about their embarrassment of this team more than they are happy to be there.

After a three-game winning streak going into the bye week, the Bears have fallen flat on their faces over the past three games, and things may not get better any time soon. They still have their entire NFC North divisional opponents to face, twice, and if fans are booing now, they may be screaming by end of the season.

The Bears have never fired a head coach midseason, and they likely won't again. But if things get even uglier with the league's most difficult strength of schedule on deck -- including six divisional games -- anything is possible.
