Bears' DJ Moore praises Caleb Williams for accountability and improved performance
Following what was a chaotic week for the Chicago Bears and their offense with the changing of offensive coordinators, Caleb Williams took major accountability.
Prior to the team's loss to the Green Bay Packers last Sunday, Jay Glazer of FOX Sports reported that in the aftermath of Shane Waldron being fired and Thomas Brown named as the new offensive coordinator, Williams stood up in front of the team during the week and apologized for his poor play leading to the change.
Glazer's report stated that with the news of Williams' apology, he earned plenty of respect among his teammates for taking ownership. Losing three consecutive games, and enduring over 20 drives on offense without scoring a touchdown, both play calling and Williams lack of production led to Waldron's dismissal.
One of those teammates, star wide receiver DJ Moore was asked about Williams taking ownership with his apology to the team, and gave his respect to the rookie for the move.
"He did it out of the kindness of his heart and just to let everybody know he'll be better," Moore said, via 670 the Score.
Not only did Williams get respect from Moore for taking ownership during the team's struggles, but his improved performance against the Packers drew admiration from his top receiver as well. Certainly not an easy rookie season for Williams, but he's made actions and carried himself like a young veteran, and not someone in a disappointing first season in the NFL.
