Bears defense has been elite in the second half this season

The Chicago Bears defense has been one of the best in the NFL through the first two weeks of the 2024 NFL season, where they've singlehandedly kept the team in both games (including leading them to their lone win of the season).

The Bears defense is allowing 18.0 points per game, which ranks sixth in the NFL, and they've been a top unit in the league. But they've been especially elite in the second half of games.

According to Marquee Bears, in the first half, the defense is allowing 16.5 points per game, 192.5 yards per game, 2.0 sacks and zero takeaways. But in the second half, the defense is allowing 1.5 points per game, 4.0 sacks and four takeaways.

The Bears have allowed three points in each of their first two games against the Tennessee Titans and Houston Texans. The fact that Chicago was able to hold Houston, considered a top offense in the league, to just three points and forced a late turnover is especially impressive.

Now, the Bears defense has a favorable slate against the Indianapolis Colts, Los Angeles Rams and Carolina Panthers, where they'll look to build on what's been an impressive start to the 2024 season.
