Bears claim OL Jordan McFadden
The Chicago Bears are in the middle of a crucial offseason, which includes a search for their next head coach. But general manager Ryan Poles is already making roster moves.
According to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, the Bears have claimed offensive lineman Jordan McFadden, who was released by the Los Angeles Chargers on Thursday, off waivers.
McFadden, a former fifth-round pick by the Chargers in 2023, played 13 games, including two starts, for Los Angeles. He was selected out of Clemson, where he had five-position versatility along the offensive line. McFadden is a depth piece along the offensive line, where he's been among the inactives for most of the year.
McFadden isn't going to do anything to move the needle at offensive line. After all, there are plenty of questions surrounding the Bears' offensive line this offseason, where right tackle Darnell Wright is the only starter who is guaranteed a spot next year. Left tackle Braxton Jones is recovering from surgery on his ankle that forced him to miss the final two games of the season. Then there's the interior, which could be entirely new in 2025 with left guard Teven Jenkins set to hit free agency and holes at center and right guard.
