Bears announce trade for Darrell Taylor, corresponding roster moves

The Chicago Bears officially announced a trade for edge rusher Darrell Taylor, pending a physical, sending a 2025 sixth-round pick to the Seattle Seahawks.

Taylor, a former second-round pick, has amassed 21.5 sacks, 90 pressures and 34 QB hits in 49 games. He's also managed to stay on the field, missing just two games in the past three years. Taylor's best season came in 2022, where he totaled 9.5 sacks and four forced fumbles. Taylor will fact into Chicago's edge rusher group, led by Pro Bowler Montez Sweat, and also includes DeMarcus Walker and rookie Austin Booker.

The Bears also announced two corresponding roster moves, with the addition of Taylor and roster cutdowns looming this Tuesday. Chicago has waived defensive end Khalid Kareem and terminated the contract of wide receiver Freddie Swain.

With Kareem and Swain's releases, the roster currently sits at 90 players. The Bears have until Tuesday at 3 p.m. CT to trim their roster down to 53 players.
