Bears activate OL Larry Borom, elevate DB Reddy Steward, OL Jake Curhan

Reinforcements are on the way for the Chicago Bears. On Saturday, the team activated offensive tackle Larry Borom from injured reserve. They also elevated offensive lineman Jake Curhan and defensive back Reddy Steward from the practice squad ahead of their game against the Arizona Cardinals.

Borom was placed on injured reserve after he suffered an ankle injury during the team's preseason finale against the Kansas City Chiefs. The fourth-year lineman missed the first seven games but returns at the perfect time. The Bears are down offensive tackles Braxton Jones and Kiran Amegadjie after both suffered injuries in last week's loss vs. the Commanders, putting Borom in the driver's seat to start at left tackle. Curhan, meanwhile, will more than likely serve as depth, with left guard Teven Jenkins questionable with an ankle injury.

On the defensive side, Steward is in line to make his professional debut. The undrafted rookie shined during the preseason, picking off two passes in the finale, and could see action with cornerback Kyler Gordon questionable with a hamstring injury as he works to return to the field.

Steward's elevation could also be an indicator regarding Tyrique Stevenson's status for Sunday's game. The second-year cornerback was out of position during the Hail Mary touchdown last week and has been the subject of criticism. Head coach Matt Eberflus declined to say whether or not Stevenson's playing time would be affected this week, but a move like this could signal that is the case.

The Bears and Cardinals kickoff from Glendale, AZ, on Sunday afternoon, beginning at 3:05 p.m. CT.
