Bears 7-round 2025 mock draft: Chicago goes offensive line-heavy
The Chicago Bears are in the thick of the 2025 offseason, where they're searching for a new head coach following a disappointing 5-12 season.
General manager Ryan Poles has plenty of work to do with this roster, between free agency and the 2025 NFL draft, to make this team a playoff contender next season. It certainly helps that Chicago has four picks in the top 72 in the NFL draft, where they can address key needs, including the offensive line, which has several holes to fill.
With that in mind, here's a look at our new seven-round mock draft where we try to improve the Bears' roster at several positions of need.
Round 1, Pick 10: Kelvin Banks Jr., OT, Texas
Chicago needs to prioritize shoring up the offensive line in front of Caleb Williams. There are several needs along the offensive line, but they could use with an upgrade at left tackle. While Braxton Jones has been serviceable, the Bears will be primed to add a franchise left tackle in the top 10. In this case, that's Texas' Kelvin Banks Jr., a three-year starter who's a plug-and-play left tackle.
Round 2, Pick 39: Princely Umanmielen, EDGE, Ole Miss
The Bears' pass rush has been underwhelming over the past few years, even with the addition of Montez Sweat, who had a down year amid injuries. While Sweat is a cornerstone along the defensive line, they need to find a true complement opposite him. Princely Umanmielen is a borderline first-round pick given his elite speed and impressive spin move off the edge. He totaled a career-high 10.5 sacks this season and would make the perfect pairing with Sweat.
Round 2, Pick 41: Tyler Booker, G, Alabama
The Bears have multiple positions to address along the offensive line, including along the interior. Teven Jenkins is likely gone in free agency, which means there are two guard positions to fill. While Chicago can find one in free agency, Tyler Booker would be an immediate contributor along the interior. Pass protection is key for Caleb Williams, and Booker has allowed just one sack in his three-year career.
Round 3, Pick 72: Cam Skattebo, RB, Arizona State
Chicago's run game took a huge dip this season, going from a top-three unit to a bottom-eight rushing attack and the D'Andre Swift experiment didn't go according to plan. The Bears could look to add another playmaker to the mix on Day 3, and Cam Skattebo would be the perfect addition. Skattebo, who possesses elite contact balance and good vision, rushed for 1,711 yards and 21 touchdowns, while averaging 5.8 yards per carry, and added 605 receiving yards and three scores.
Round 5, Pick 147: Jonah Monheim, C, USC
As previously mentioned, there are holes across the offensive line -- from starters to depth -- and the Bears need to address center in a big way. Coleman Shelton isn't the answer, and Chicago will likely address the position in free agency and/or the draft. Jonah Monheim would be a good developmental prospect to build with Caleb Williams, his former college teammate at USC, where he's been a solid pass blocker and could help shore up the interior.
Round 6, Pick 197: Mitchell Evans, TE, Notre Dame
Cole Kmet had a down year, but he remains a viable weapon in the passing game for Chicago. Now, it's about finding a complement to him at tight end because Gerald Everett isn't the answer. There will be options for Chicago on Day 3, including Notre Dame's Mitchell Evans, who has size and strength and is physical as a run blocker.
Round 7, Pick 233: Malachi Moore, S, Alabama
The Bears secondary remains the strength of their defense, but there are questions at safety after Jaquan Brisker missed most of the season with his third concussion in as many seasons. With Brisker's health a question, Chicago could target Malachi Moore, who's a versatile safety with ballhawking ability that would be a nice addition to a room that includes Brisker and Kevin Byard.
Round 7, Pick 244: Zakhari Franklin, WR, Illinois
While Keenan Allen left the door open for a return to Chicago, it feels like he won't be back in 2025. The Bears have a dynamic duo at receiver with DJ Moore and Rome Odunze, but they still need to add some quality receivers behind them. The Bears could take a flier on local kid Zakhari Franklin, who could be an intriguing addition to the receiver room.
