Bears 2 longest losing streaks in team history have come under Ryan Poles
Ryan Poles has only been the general manager of the Chicago Bears since 2022, and he is already in a league of his own—but not for the right reasons. As Poles watched the Bears clinch their eighth loss in a row, a 30-12 stinker to the Minnesota Vikings, while he chewed gum behind his laptop inside the stadium, he became the sole owner of the team's top two losing streaks.
According to Marc "Silvy" Silverman of ESPN 1000's Waddle & Silvy Show, Poles has the two longest losing streaks of any Bears team in history. The Bears lost 14 games in a row between the 2022 and 2023 season, and the eight-game losing streak this season is now tied for second. One more loss in a row and he will hold sole possession of first and second place, an honor general managers like Phil Emery or Mark Hatley.
Ryan Poles’ teams now own the TWO longest losing streaks in #Bears history.
14 games in 2022-23.
8 games this year. (tied for 2nd)

It's a very tough look for the man who famously uttered the words, "We're going to take the North and never give it back." Poles has been a part of just two division wins during his tenure and now has multiple losing streaks that have spanned over two months in between wins. Following the firing of head coach Matt Eberflus a few weeks ago, Poles is next on the hot seat, and the temperature is rising, despite getting the vote of confidence from president/CEO Kevin Warren.
We'll see what happens at the end of the season, but multiple losing streaks won't exactly help Poles when he's making a push to stay. It remains to be seen if that, the roster construction, and coaching staff all go against him after Week 18, prompting the Bears to make a change.
