What’s the latest with the Chicago Bears?
The Bears continued training camp with their 12th practice on Sunday, which was another padded workout ahead of an off day. The offense struggled during team drills, where they were down three starting offensive linemen, and the impact was obvious. But rookie quarterback Caleb Williams and wide receiver DJ Moore connected for the play of the day, a preview of what we can expect this season.

Bears 2024 training camp: Takeaways from Day 12
Chicago was back in pads for their fourth open practice of training camp, which comes before an off day heading into game week against the Buffalo Bills on Saturday. According to Courtney Cronin, it was a rough practice all around for the Bears. While the offense struggled down three starting offensive linemen, the defense didn't fair much better down some key starters, as well.
Bears down to just 1 starting offensive lineman during Sunday's practice
Right tackle Darnell Wright was out for the third practice in a row, but guard Nate Davis returned after missing the last week with what head coach Matt Eberflus described as a strain. Ryan Bates was the center, as he continues to battle with Coleman Shelton, while Teven Jenkins and Braxton Jones anchored the left guard and left tackle positions, respectively. It only took a matter of minutes until that changed, however.

After every practice, we will be highlighting a handful of players who stood out and why. The Bears returned to Halas Hall for Day 11 of practice, and despite the fact it was unpadded, there was a lot that took place. Both the offense and defense had their moments, and it was a promising day for Williams at quarterback.
