The Bears were back on the practice field for their 18th practice of the summer, which was a joint practice with the Cincinnati Bengals ahead of their preseason game on Saturday. Chicago and Cincinnati practiced in the rain throughout practice, where it was pouring at times, and it was the Bears defense that made an impact. They picked off quarterback Joe Burrow several times while Caleb Williams and the offense had a strong practice.

It was a rainy day at Halas, where weather forced what was originally an open practice for fans to be canceled. Still, the Bears and Bengals practiced outdoors during what Sean Hammond described as "near constant rain" where it poured at times. According to the Chicago and Cincinnati media in attendance, the Bears starting defense dominated the afternoon and Caleb Williams and the offense had a strong finish to practice after an early hiccup.

Matt Eberflus announces Bears will play starters vs. Bengals on Saturday

Chicago Bears rookie quarterback Caleb Williams is set to make his home debut at Soldier Field on Saturday. Bears head coach Matt Eberflus announced Williams and the rest of the starters will play in Saturday's preseason tilt against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Report: Bears offered third-round pick for Matt Judon

Ultimately, the New England Patriots traded Judon to the Atlanta Falcons in exchange for a third-round pick. According to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, Chicago was "heavily involved" in trade talks for Judon, although it wasn't known at the time if an offer was made. But it sounds like that was the case. According to NBC Sports Boston, the Bears offered a third-round pick of their own for Judon. It certainly speaks to how the rest of the NFL views Chicago, as New England opted for Atlanta's third-rounder instead.
