What’s the latest with the Chicago Bears?

As the Bears prepare for their Week 2 game against the Houston Texans, all eyes are on the status of rookie wide receiver Rome Odunze, who was injured in the season opener. According to reports, Odunze suffered a Grade 1 MCL sprain that has him "week-to-week," although it's uncertain how much time he'll miss -- if any. But it certainly sounds encouraging.

Report: Bears not ruling out WR Rome Odunze for Week 2 vs. Texans

Chicago Bears rookie receiver Rome Odunze suffered a Grade 1 MCL sprain in Sunday's win against the Tennessee Titans, which puts his status for Week 2 against the Houston Texans in doubt. But, all things considered, a minor sprain is best case scenario for Odunze after he was rolled up on while blocking for teammate Velus Jones Jr. late in the fourth quarter. As for how much time the ninth overall pick will miss, that remains to be seen. But things certainly sound optimistic.

Bears bring in 8 players for tryout on Tuesday

The Chicago Bears hosted a number of players for a tryout on Tuesday at Halas Hall. According to Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune, the Bears worked out eight players: Wide receivers Kearis Jackson, Cornelius Johnson, Jordan Kerley and David Wallis, quarterback Gavin Hardison, cornerback Damarion Williams, and tight ends Armani Rogers and Joel Wilson.

Bears odds: Chicago opens as road underdogs vs. Texans in Week 2

The Bears have opened as 6.5-point road underdogs against the Texans in Week 2, according to BetMGM. The over/under is set at 46. Oddsmakers certainly aren't confident that Chicago can come away with an upset against the reigning AFC South championships. Which makes sense after a rough offensive start in the season opener that left more questions than answers heading into a difficult AFC South stretch.
