What’s the latest with the Chicago Bears?

The Bears will be without wide receiver DeAndre Carter for the remainder of the 2024 season. Carter was placed on injured reserve on Wednesday due to a hamstring injury suffered against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 14. Chicago also made a couple of corresponding roster moves. With Carter sidelined for the final four games, the expectation is cornerback and core special teamer Josh Blackwell will continue to serve as the primary return specialist.

Bears place return specialist DeAndre Carter on injured reserve

The Chicago Bears lost a key special teams member for the rest of the season. Return specialist and wide receiver DeAndre Carter was placed on injured reserve on Wednesday due to a hamstring injury he sustained during the 38-13 loss to the San Francisco 49ers. The Bears also signed defensive tackle Jonathan Ford and added running back Royce Freeman to the practice squad.

Veteran long snapper Patrick Mannelly, who spent 15 seasons with the Bears and is the longest tenured player in franchise history, questioned if anyone has done their job well this season. Appearing on the 'Bernstein & Harris Show' on 670 The Score in Chicago, Mannelly says the issue of control and power has been ongoing for 12 years.
