What’s the latest with the Chicago Bears?

The Bears are back on the practice field this morning at Halas Hall for their eighth training camp workout, which kicks off a busy week. Chicago is slated to play their first preseason game on Thursday night against the Houston Texans in the Pro Football Hall of Fame Game. They'll also celebrate their three newest Hall of Famers: Devin Hester, Steve McMichael and Julius Peppers. They also added a new running back to the roster as a couple of reserves are banged up after Saturday's practice.

Bears sign RB Demetric Felton

The Bears have made a roster move ahead of their second week of training camp action, signing running back Demetric Felton on Sunday. According to Adam Hoge, reserve running backs Travis Homer and Ian Wheeler were banged up during practice on Saturday, which explains the move. The Bears were given an international roster exemption for punter Tory Taylor, which means he doesn't count toward the 90-man roster.

Before Chicago Bears safety Jonathan Owens heads to Paris to support Simone Biles in the Olympics this week, he woke up early Sunday morning to cheer on his wife, from home, during the women's gymnastics qualifying round on Sunday. And, like she always does, Biles dominated the competition to lead the way for Team USA.

Tyrique Stevenson discusses what it's like covering Bears' talented receiver trio

The Bears have one of the NFL's best receiver trios with DJ Moore, Keenan Allen and rookie Rome Odunze, which should give opposing defenses some fits in the regular season. But it's also helping sharpen Chicago's secondary. Second-year cornerback Tyrique Stevenson believes that battling the likes of Moore, Allen, Odunze and Tyler Scott has prepared him for whatever he'll face from opposing wideouts during the 2024 season.
