Beanpot Final Tonight As Northeastern And BU Clash With Potential Record Breaking Crowd On Hand

Northeastern University and Boston University will be competing at TD Garden for the Women’s Beanpot finals tonight.

The two teams faced one another last season at the Beanpot final, where Northeastern left victorious securing a two-to-one overtime winner.

Northeastern’s Skylar Irving scored both goals for the team last time the two met teams met up and left the MVP of the tournament. She returns again this season, having already recorded eight goals and 11 assists in the teams first 23 games. Fans are excited to see Irving return for her final Beanpot, hoping for another outstanding performance.

Northeastern is looking to take home their third straight Beanpot title, while Boston University returns to the Garden eager for revenge following last seasons loss. Boston University has a slight advantage over Northeastern, currently with a four-point advantage over Northeastern in the Hockey East standing.

The Northeastern team lost several of their star players since last season, and although Irving has been strong, this could be anyone's game.

Both teams are looking to break another record: attendance.

Last seasons thrilling game drew a crowd of 10,633 fans, a record for women’s hockey in New England. There’s optimism that this record will be broken this season, as women’s hockey continues to grow.

Both teams prepare for next Tuesday, each looking to make history and walk away with the win.

The Beanpot tournament will take place at TD Garden on January 21st. The first game will take place at 4:30 p.m. where Boston College will face Harvard, and the finals will take place at 7:30 p.m.. Both games will be available on NESN and ESPN+.
