Bayern said goodbye to 2024 with a 5-1 win at home to RB Leipzig as they went into the winter break on a high. What’s the plan for the team’s return in 2025 as they prepare for the second half of the season?

First training on 2 January, open session on 3 January

Vincent Kompany has granted his players 12 days off before Jamal Musiala and everyone returns for full team training on 2 January. Some players who are currently working their way back from injury will be doing some shifts on their own during the break. The team then have an open training session with fans in attendance at Säbener Straße at 10.30am CET on 3 January.

Salzburg friendly on FC Bayern TV PLUS

Bayern will warm up for the campaign’s resumption with a friendly match away at Red Bull Salzburg on 6 January. The game kicks off at 6pm and can be watched live and exclusively on FC Bayern TV PLUS (except in Austria). Find out how to subscribe here.

Packed fixture list

After nine days of getting back up to speed, Bayern launch straight into a hectic period with games every few days for three weeks. The fixture competitive fixture of 2025 is away at Borussia Mönchengladbach on 11 January. There are then back-to-back home games in the Bundesliga against Hoffenheim (15 January) and Wolfsburg (18 January). The Champions League’s league phase then comes to a conclusion with a visit to Feyenoord on 22 January before a home game against Slovan Bratislava on 29 January, sandwiching a Bundesliga game away at Freiburg on 25 January. Bayern are still on course for a place in the top eight that would mean direct qualification for the round of 16.
