As per a report by Foot Mercato, Bayern Munich have not given up on their pursuit of AS Monaco’s Breel Embolo (27) with the German giants looking for offensive reinforcements this summer after the departure of Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting (35).

There had been growing rumours during the Euros that Bayern were interested in Embolo, fuelled in part by the Swiss striker’s performances during the competition. Embolo recorded two goals in five games as Switzerland reached the Quarter Finals where they were eliminated by eventual finalists England on penalties.

During the tournament, Embolo had addressed the link with Bayern, telling Sky SportsI hope you can understand that I cannot say anything about it, out of respect for my club and out of respect for Bayern. It’s a great club of course […] But I don’t think about that and cannot and will not comment on it.” However, when pressed on the question he did state, “You never know […] If this becomes a question, it’ll have to be studied.”

Foot Mercato writes that Embolo has not made leaving the Principality his priority this summer despite recently changing agents, while Bayern Munich have not yet made an offer to Monaco for the striker. It is further being reported that Monaco would not like to sell their forward.
