Bayern Munich agree personal terms with Xavi Simons’ management

According to Sky Germany, Bayern Munich have agreed personal terms with PSG forward Xavi Simons.

It had previously been reported that Der Rekordmeister were keen on luring the Dutchman over to Bavaria after a successful season in Saxony with RB Leipzig.

Last season, in 43 appearances for Die Roten Bullen, Simons scored ten goals and registered 15 assists, equating to a goal contribution every 139 minutes.

However, the 21-year-old recently stated that he would not make a decision on his future while on international duty at Euro 2024 with the Netherlands. With Bayern and Leipzig the two frontrunners for his signature, as well as having the option of returning to PSG, there was uncertainty regarding his future.

Nevertheless, as stated in the report, it has become clear that Simons does not have a short-term future in the French capital. This has, therefore, allowed Bayern to act.

It is understood that the record champions have agreed upon basic contract details, such as the length of the contract and salary demands, with the 21-year-old’s management.

Nonetheless, it is not expected for Simons to give the green light on any deal until after the European Championships. As well as this, Der Rekordmeister will still need to negotiate with PSG regarding a suitable transfer structure, whether that be a loan to buy or a permanent transfer.
