A fresh insight into the future of a returning member of the loan army at La Liga giants Barcelona has this week been forthcoming online.

The player in question? Pablo Torre.

Midfielder Torre, for his part, is fresh off a solid-if-unspectacular loan stint with Barcelona’s Catalan rivals, Girona.

The 21-year-old played his part in the historic campaign enjoyed by the Blanquivermells, on his way to 26 La Liga appearances.

All told, though, Torre never established himself as first-choice.

It therefore came as something of a surprise when claims began to mount in the media that the Spaniard could yet carve out a role for himself in the plans of incoming Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick.

Owing to his ideal fit as the midfield spearhead in Flick’s patented 4-2-3-1 formation, Torre was tipped to work his way into the setup of the Blaugrana for 2024/25.

As much, however, now looks altogether unlikely.

That’s according to Diario Sport, who have confirmed that, in fact, ‘Pablo Torre, after his loan in Girona, has no place and in principle a solution is being sought.’

Deco and co, as a result, are ready to sanction either another loan, or potentially even a permanent exit for the youngster.
