Barcelona teenager Vitor Roque has turned down Al Hilal’s initial contract proposal.

The player and his camp decided to reject the lucrative contract proposal after club-to-club talks. As reported by Fabrizio Romano, the Saudi side are now looking at alternative young forwards in case they are unable to present an acceptable offer to Roque.

The Brazilian is wanted by an array of Saudi clubs, but is unsure if he wants this type of move at this stage in his career. Barca are willing to sell the forward, just months after his €40m move to the Catalan outfit.

Roque has struggled to get the game time he was promised when he joined the club and has often found himself on the bench or excluded from the match day squad. Despite this, he is currently with the Barca first-team squad in the United States for pre-season.

This is seen as an excellent opportunity for the dynamic attacker to impress new boss Hansi Flick, but a move away from the club still remains the most likely outcome, with the Spanish giants in need of significant sales during the summer transfer window.
