Barcelona winger keen on Premier League switch amid Arsenal, Newcastle interest
Over the past few months, there have been relentless speculations about the future of Raphinha at FC Barcelona.
Even though the 27-year-old has been constantly insisting that he wishes to stay put, reports about a departure continue to do the rounds with interest coming from Arsenal, Newcastle United, and some clubs in Saudi Arabia.
With Barcelona needing to secure a big sale and the fact that Raphinha is unlikely tot be a guaranteed starter next season, an exit could very well be on the cards.
Raphinha open to Premier League move
Now, journalist Graeme Bailey reports that Raphinha would indeed be open to a switch to the Premier League where he excelled with Leeds United before joining Barcelona.
Lamine Yamal will be the undisputed starter on the right flank for Barça next term while they are working overtime to secure Nico Williams for the left wing, leaving Raphinha out to warm the bench.
As such, Raphinha understands that his game-time will be limited next season and is warming up to the idea of a move back to the Premier League.
Newcastle United have been credited with a concrete interest in the 27-year-old Brazilian while Arsenal, who wanted to sign him in 2022, are also said to be keen. More recently, Aston Villa have also shown an interest in the ex-Leeds United man.
As such, the report states that the aforementioned teams have been informed about the player being open to a return to England. Other clubs like Chelsea, Manchester United, and Tottenham have also been made aware.
Raphinha is seen as a sellable asset by Barcelona this summer but the club would only sanction a departure for very high offers.
What now remains to be seen is whether any of the interested teams are willing to fork out the cash needed to sign him.
