Barcelona will go ‘all in’ on top-priority signing Nico Williams on two conditions – report
The rumor mill linked Barcelona with various star forwards last summer but took a particular liking toward Nico Williams.
Following the 22-year-old’s euphoric exploits in the Euros, Barcelona were hot on Williams’ heels, believing him to be an ideal candidate for the left-wing position.
Ultimately, frail finances and a preference for Dani Olmo saw the move fail to materialize.
Still, the possibility of President Joan Laporta dressing Nico Williams in the Blaugrana colors is still not completely distant.
The saga is not over yet
Indeed, according to SPORT Nico Williams has expressed a strong desire to join Barcelona, making it clear that a move to the Catalan giants is his preferred next step.
Meanwhile, Barcelona have identified the need to strengthen their attacking options on the wings and placed Williams at the top of their priority list.
Given the tender age of Lamine Yamal and Raphinha being the only left winger in the squad, Barcelona are eager to finalize the signing, viewing him as a perfect long-term asset for the team.

The Basque winger would address Barcelona’s lack of a natural dribbler, providing a much-needed creative spark in the final third.
Additionally, his arrival would bolster squad depth—a critical factor for teams aiming to compete on all fronts and contend for multiple trophies throughout the season.
After all, the injury to Yamal forced Barcelona to make significant adjustments to their system against Atletico Madrid, with Fermin Lopez unexpectedly deployed in a wide role to fill the void.
While Williams has not set the world on fire this season, with merely seven goals and assists thus far, his profile would be welcome at Barcelona.
Barcelona are also expected to make some big moves next summer considering it will be Laporta’s final summer transfer window before the presidential elections, paving the way for a potential signing.
