Barcelona return to work tomorrow ahead of the 2024-25 season as they kickstart a new beginning under Hansi Flick.

The new manager will be without the internationals who participated in the Copa America and the European Championships but will look to implement his philosophy on the available players right from the get-go.

Concurrently, it will be a fresh start for the players too who will look to make a positive impression on the new manager and thereby secure a place in his plans.

One such youngster, who will be eager to make an impact, is Vitor Roque.

Unfazed by rumours

As revealed in a recent report from Mundo Deportivo, the Brazilian striker is clear about his intentions to succeed in Catalonia. He is determined to impress Flick and has been working for a month already to maintain good form.

Despite strong interest from clubs in Italy, Roque is only focused on succeeding at Barcelona and is not thinking about a departure, even on loan.

After a rough start to life in Barcelona under Xavi Hernandez, Roque’s future at the club will largely depend on what he can produce over the next month.

With Robert Lewandowski ageing and Marc Guiu no longer at the club, the Brazilian has a good chance of securing a place in the squad.

Registration still pending

Roque was registered as a Barcelona player last season under the space created by Gavi’s long-term injury, but the midfielder’s recovery means that the Brazilian is once again unregistered for the new season.

His place in the team, thus, is dependent on the club’s financial situation in addition to the sporting factor discussed.

The 19-year-old is clear that he will not leave on loan and will demand a permanent departure should Barcelona not grant him a place in the team.

As it stands, however, he is not contemplating a departure at all.
