Barcelona target confirms Camp Nou ‘dream’

A rumoured transfer target on the part of La Liga giants Barcelona has confirmed that he one day hopes to put pen to paper on terms with the club.

The player in question? Jaden Philogene.

The name of winger Philogene has of course taken its place front and centre in the headlines in Catalunya’s capital over the course of the last couple of weeks.

As much comes after surprise reports began to surface in the media, pointing towards the Englishman as the latest name added to Barcelona’s shortlist of summer targets.

The Blaugrana are known to be on the lookout for fresh blood on the left flank, with Philogene’s excellence en route to 12 goals and six assists in England’s 2nd tier this past season having seen him catch the eye.

During an exchange with the media on Friday, it therefore came as little surprise when such links were put to the 22-year-old himself.

And, speaking to QueThiJugues (as cited by Fabrizio Romano), Philogene went on to reveal that he ‘dreams’ of one day pulling on the famed colours of Barcelona.

For the time being, however, the attacker is Premier League-bound:

“I have chosen the Premier League because it is the clearest offer I have, but my dream is still La Liga. Barça is my dream, I hope I can sign for them one day. My idols are Ronaldinho and Neymar.”
