A recently-signed member of the attacking ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona on Wednesday made clear that he is ready to contribute, if called upon by manager Hansi Flick this coming season.

The player in question? Pau Víctor.

Frontman Víctor, for his part, put pen to paper on fresh terms in Catalunya’s capital just last week.

After shining across a season-long loan stint with Barca Atlètic in 2023/24, the Spaniard was brought back from Girona, on this occasion on a permanent basis.

As the Blaugrana’s first-team stars continue to trickle back in following their respective endeavours on the international front over the summer, Víctor, in turn, was afforded a chance to impress in the early hours of Wednesday.

As much came by way of a starting berth in his side’s friendly meeting with Premier League champions Manchester City.

And, safe to say, the 22-year-old went on to take full advantage of the opportunity put before him…

En route to an eventual 2-2 draw in Orlando, Víctor first opened the scoring, courtesy of a perfectly-timed run, and unerring finish:

And he was at the heart of things for Barcelona once more on the stroke of the interval.

On this occasion, Víctor showcased both his awareness and ingenuity, in opening up the space for Pablo Torre to lash home, courtesy of a wonderful dummy:

It is of course important not to get carried away with just one performance, but, on his way to Man of the Match honours against Man City, Pau Víctor certainly showcased flashes of a player who could prove himself useful to manager Hansi Flick at Barcelona this coming season.
