Barcelona starlet tipped to become ‘the best in the world’ in his position

Barcelona defender Alejandro Balde has this week been tipped to go on to establish himself as the very best left-back in world football.

This is the opinion of super agent Jorge Mendes, who revealed as much during an interview with Mundo Deportivo.

Stopper Balde has for his part of course spent the season to date reestablishing himself as one of the first names on the team sheet in Catalunya’s capital.

After being forced into a lengthy spell on the sidelines through injury over the 2nd half of the 2023/24 campaign, the Spanish international has wasted little time in convincing new boss Hansi Flick of his talents.

All told, to this point in the term, Balde has racked up 22 appearances across all competitions, chipping in with a trio of assists along the way.

And, as alluded to above, one individual of the opinion that the youngster’s performances along the way have proven evidence enough that Balde will soon go on to develop into the very best left-back in the game is super agent Jorge Mendes.

Speaking to MD on Tuesday morning, Mendes, who represents Balde, explained:

“There is no doubt about him, he will become number 1 in his position (in world football)”.
