Barcelona starlet could replace Atlético’s Robin Le Normand in next Spain squad
An up-and-coming member of the defensive ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona could be afforded a call-up to the next Spanish national team squad.
That’s according to Diario Sport, who point towards Pau Cubarsí as the player in question.
Spain head coach Luis de la Fuente will be forced to shake things up for the next international break, owing to developments on Sunday night.
En route to La Roja’s 4-1 Nations League drubbing of Switzerland, Robin Le Normand was shown a straight red card just 20 minutes into the action in Geneva.
The summer Atlético Madrid signing will, as a result, be suspended for his country’s next outing, against Denmark on October 12th.
And, as per the aforementioned Sport, as much could open the doors to a member of the defensive setup at Barcelona.
After he was afforded his first three caps at senior level on the international stage earlier in the year, Pau Cubarsí now looks increasingly likely to be restored to Luis de la Fuente’s squad, for next month’s international break.
