Barcelona star’s well-earned nickname was restored during Brest clash
Viewers of Barcelona’s meeting with Stade Brestois this evening made use of the opportunity to restore an old nickname attached to Blaugrana midfielder Pedri.
As much came owing to nothing short of a wonderful performance on the part of the Spanish international.
Barcelona marked their return to action a short time ago, welcoming Ligue 1 outfit Brest to Catalunya’s capital for a Champions League clash.
When all was said and done, the Blaugrana cruised to a 3-0 triumph, courtesy of a Robert Lewandowski brace, either side of a further strike on the part of Dani Olmo.
Whilst it is frontman Lewandowski – who took his Champions League tally beyond the century mark on Tuesday – who has since grabbed the majority of the headlines, it is another member of Hansi Flick’s squad whom many have nevertheless been keen to direct their praise towards.
The player in question? Pedri.
Pedri was afforded his latest start in the middle of the park this evening, and responded by conjuring up a showing to remember.
Sumptuous touch, supreme dribbling, pinpoint passing and a relentless work rate culminated in nothing short of a masterclass on the part of the 22-year-old.
So much so that, across social media and beyond, the nickname ‘Pedri Potter’ has been restored.
