Barcelona star thinks Nico Williams would be a ‘spectacular signing’

However, things are always much easier said than done. FC Barcelona hardly has the finances to go after the biggest transfer operations in the market right now but that does not stop the media and rumor mill from constantly linking the Catalan club to the best of the best.

One of the players who has been heavily linked to Barcelona in recent times is Nico Williams. The 21-year-old Athletic Club star has been gaining a lot of attention from fans of Barcelona and even the journalists connected to the club, with many hoping that he becomes the next big name to dress up in Blaugrana colors.

Moreover, as highlighted by Fabrizio Romano, Williams is also more than welcome at the club for a certain star of Barcelona as well. Pedri, the 21-year-old midfield star who formerly won the Golden Boy award and is currently a teammate of Nico’s in the Spanish National team, had the following to say about the possibility of the Athletic Club star joining Barça at some point:

“Nico Williams would be a spectacular signing for us at Barcelona, it’d be incredible… He’s a player who is already showing what he’s capable of. I hope he can join us.”

Such big words from Pedri are not the first of its kind when it comes to Nico Williams. Other Barcelona stars have also previously name-dropped the player as someone who they would love to see at Barcelona and go on to play with at club level as well.
