Barcelona star surprises with pre-season appearance after just 3 days of vacation

There was a surprise appearance at the training ground of La Liga giants Barcelona on Friday.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who point towards Jules Koundé as the player to have been spotted in attendance at The Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper.

Defender Koundé, for his part, technically saw his summer vacation begin just three days ago.

As much came upon France being eliminated from the European Championships at the semi-final stage at the hands of Spain.

The former Sevilla man was therefore not expected to link up with new Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick’s squad for some time yet.

As per MD, though:

‘French defender Jules Koundé went to the training facilities to the surprise of the fans who were waiting for the rest of the players.’

Koundé has long been recognised as one of the hardest workers in Barca’s ranks, though it remains to be seen whether or not the plan of the 25-year-old is actually to begin pre-season training this weekend.
