Barcelona star to stay put after complete future U-turn
La Liga giants Barcelona have on Wednesday been handed a major boost on the personnel front.
This comes amid confirmation that star defender Ronald Araújo has come to the decision to stay put at the club this month.
The name of Uruguayan international Araújo has of course dominated the headlines in Catalunya’s capital for several weeks now.
This comes after intense interest on the part of Italian giants Juventus in the signature of the 25-year-old was met with positive signals on the part of the player himself.
A move for Araújo to Turin, in turn, was seen as increasingly likely to come to fruition in January.
As alluded to above, though, on Wednesday, all of those desperate for the stopper to stay put in Catalunya’s capital can breathe a collective sigh of relief.
This comes amid confirmation on the part of Fabrizio Romano, citing Fernando Polo of Mundo Deportivo, that Araújo has changed his mind regarding his future.
Following a fresh round of talks with Barcelona sporting director Deco, the South American has made the call to stay put.
