Barcelona star informs teammates he is ‘seriously considering’ leaving this month

Barcelona star Ronald Araújo has conveyed to his teammates that he is giving real consideration to a departure from the club this January.

The name of defender Araújo has of course dominated the headlines in Catalunya’s capital across the week to date.

This comes as speculation continues to mount surrounding outside interest in the signature of the Uruguayan international.

After Juventus were first tipped as a potential destination for Araújo, Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal were yesterday named as an interested party, too.

And, if the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, then the stopper himself appears to be very much open to the prospect of sourcing a new challenge this month.

As per a report from Mundo Deportivo:

‘The defender has commented internally in the dressing room that it is true that he is seriously considering leaving 
Barça as he is somewhat ‘burnt out’ with various situations.’

Barcelona, for their part, are in no rush to part with Araújo, albeit with it noted that a sale could be sanctioned this month in the case of an irresistible offer landing on the Camp Nou desks.
