Barcelona’s efforts to secure Dani Olmo’s future at the club have taken centre stage. As reported by SPORT, the player remains fully committed to the Blaugrana despite the uncertainty surrounding his registration beyond 2024.

This predicament comes from the ongoing financial struggle between Barcelona and La Liga, which places Olmo in an awkward position.

However, the midfielder is calm about the situation, reassured by the confidence and clarity provided by the club’s management.

Barcelona have assured Olmo

The club has guaranteed Olmo that a solution will be found, whether through legal measures or alternative financial strategies.

A critical ruling by ordinary justice is expected on Friday, which will determine whether Barcelona can register him temporarily through a precautionary measure.

However, La Liga, backed by clubs like Atletico Madrid, Athletic Club, and Sevilla, has remained steadfast in opposing Barcelona’s use of this legal avenue.

If the precautionary measure fails, Barcelona will need to explore other options to raise the €60 million required to meet La Liga’s financial regulations and operate under the 1:1 rule for signings.

So what is Barcelona’s plan?

To address this financial challenge, Barcelona has already initiated negotiations with a Qatari company to sell VIP seat packages for the new Spotify Camp Nou.

This deal is expected to bring in €120 million, providing a much-needed financial boost. However, the club believes that, with more time, these packages could fetch a higher amount, potentially up to €200 million.

Despite this, the board has decided to move forward with the current deal as an emergency solution to avoid complications in registering Olmo and fellow player Pau Víctor.

Dani Olmo, for his part, remains deeply committed to Barcelona and focused on achieving success with the club.

Even if the registration issue persists, he reportedly has no intention of seeking opportunities elsewhere, fully trusting in Barcelona’s ability to resolve the matter.
