Barcelona star could return to starting XI for Athletic Club clash
Barcelona could welcome a key member of the club’s frontline back into their starting XI to face Athletic Club this week.
That’s according to Barca insider Javier Miguel, who points towards Lamine Yamal as the player in question.
Wide-man Lamine has for his part been sidelined for several weeks now, owing to an ankle injury suffered during a La Liga meeting with Leganés.
The 17-year-old, in turn, was left out over the weekend, as Barcelona kicked the club’s Copa del Rey campaign into gear with a comfortable victory over minnows Barbastro.
This marked Lamine’s 2nd successive absence.
Safe to say, then, that all of a Blaugrana persuasion will no doubt be excited by the latest word surrounding the attacker’s wellbeing to have surfaced in the media this week.
As per a report from the aforementioned Javier Miguel of Diario AS:
‘LAMINE: The sensations are excellent. His starting role against Athletic is not ruled out. Yamal wants to play.’
Barcelona are primed to take on Ernesto Valverde’s Athletic Club on Wednesday evening, in the semi-finals of the Spanish Super Cup.
LAMINE: las sensaciones son excelentes. No se descarta su titularidad ante el Athletic. Yamal quiere jugar
