Barcelona star’s new €500m release clause confirmed
Barcelona star Fermín López’s new contract with the club features a new big-money release clause for opposing clubs.
The name of midfielder Fermín has of course positioned itself front and centre in the headlines in Catalunya’s capital across the day to date.
This comes after confirmation was forthcoming that the long-term talks between Barcelona and the 21-year-old’s entourage had finally borne fruit.
Fermín is now considered a key member of the first-team setup at the Camp Nou for present and future alike.
As much, in turn, was recognised on Thursday, by way of an official announcement that the Spanish international’s terms have been extended all the way through the summer of 2029.

And, as alluded to above, Fermín’s new deal features something of a ‘hands off’ clause, too.
As per a report from Diario Sport, included in the terms of the agreement between the parties was a transfer release clause set at a hefty €500 million.
