The powers that be at La Liga giants Barcelona have forwarded a long-term contract offer to a chief summer transfer target.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who point towards Dani Olmo as the player in question.

The name of attacker Olmo has of course repositioned itself front and centre in the headlines in Catalunya’s capital across the week to date.

As much comes after widespread confirmation was forthcoming that the Barcelona brass have renewed their interest in the RB Leipzig standout.

After focus behind the scenes at the Camp Nou had shifted firmly towards the club’s pursuit of Nico Williams, Olmo has returned to the fry with a bang.

Now, the understanding is that Deco and co, before the summer is out, want to land not only Nico, but his international teammate, too.

And, on Friday, the Blaugrana’s intent has only been reiterated.

This comes amid confirmation on the part of the aforementioned Mundo Deportivo that Barca have tabled a contract proposal to Olmo and his entourage:

‘According to MD, the Spanish international’s agents have already received a written offer from Barça, in which they offer the player a six-year contract.’

The Catalans have also given their word to activating Olmo’s €60 million release clause, once they have the necessary funds at their disposal.

Not only that, but it is added:

‘Although the deadline for the 60 million euro clause with Leipzig ends this Saturday, both the player and his representatives have managed to get the German club to maintain that figure for a few more weeks.’
