Barcelona release ‘the most expensive jersey in world football’

La Liga giants Barcelona have on Wednesday unveiled the club’s new 2nd kit for the 2024/25 campaign.

And safe to say, if those of a Barca persuasion intend to get their hands on as much, they will be required to pay up…

This comes amid confirmation that, all factors taken into consideration, it is the most expensive production shirt in all of world football.

This info comes courtesy of Mundo Deportivo, who confirm that, if purchased directly from the Barcelona website, the figures are nothing short of eye-watering:

‘With a price of €114.99 for the basic version and €184.99 for the player version with name, number and logo, the Barça kit is the most expensive [in football] if you buy it from the club’s own website.’

The ‘Authentic’ Real Madrid shirt actually costs the same as that of their arch rivals, but Los Blancos’ basic edition is a considerable €15 cheaper.

In the case of buying through the Nike website rather than Barcelona’s, meanwhile, the cheapest option starts at €99.99.
