La Liga clubs Barcelona and Real Sociedad have on Wednesday been tipped to engage in what would mark a fascinating piece of summer business.

That’s according to Más Que Pelotas, who point towards Sociedad as having set their sights on an up-and-coming member of the defensive ranks in Catalunya’s capital.

Ahead of Robin Le Normand’s imminent departure for Atlético Madrid, La Real are on the lookout for fresh blood at the heart of defence.

And a new leading option has emerged, in the form of Barcelona’s Mikayil Faye.

The Senegalese, hotly tipped for a Blaugrana departure this summer, is held in high regard at Anoeta, considered an ideal replacement for Le Normand.

Sociedad are therefore ready to offer to bring Faye in on loan for next season, a move which could prove a productive one for all parties involved.

And as much, in turn, could open the door for Barcelona to land a summer target of their own.

The Catalans are known to have set their sights on Mikel Merino, ahead of the expiration of the midfielder’s contract in 12 months’ time.

A complex exchange of sorts could therefore be on the cards between the respective boards at the Camp Nou, and Anoeta.
