Barcelona & Real Madrid could go head-to-head for a big-name signing next summer
Spanish football’s two biggest clubs could be set to lock horns over a leading target on the transfer market next summer.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who point towards Joshua Kimmich as the player in question.
The name of German international Kimmich is, as things stand, primed to take its place front and centre in the headlines across all of Europe in 2025.
This comes ahead of the expiration of the versatile midfielder’s contract with long-time club Bayern Munich.
Should Kimmich not come to an agreement on the terms of an extension at the Allianz Arena, a whole host of leading clubs from across the continent are expected to express an interest in his signature.
And two such clubs, as alluded to above, could well come by way of La Liga.
As per Mundo Deportivo, keen to add to their respective ranks in the middle of the park, both Barcelona and Real Madrid are keeping a close eye on Kimmich’s situation.
The former are viewed as particularly keen, with the 29-year-old held in high regard by Blaugrana boss Hansi Flick, owing to their time spent together in Munich.
One to keep an eye on with a view to the 2025 summer transfer window…
