Barcelona ready to up their offer for 18-year-old attacking talent – report

A few days ago, we reported that Barcelona made an official offer for Mallorca’s young talent, Marc Domenech. Unfortunately, this initial proposal was turned down by the Spanish club.

However, there’s an update to the story: according to a report from SPORT, Barcelona are now preparing to make a better offer for the 18-year-old forward.

This situation is particularly pressing for Barcelona because Marc Guiu has recently moved to Chelsea, and their negotiations for Pau Victor have come to a standstill. As a result, they are keen to secure a promising striker for their reserve team.

In that regard, Domenech, who has had an impressive season scoring 21 goals for San Francisco in the Division de Honor while on loan from Mallorca, fits the bill perfectly.

Barcelona are ready to up the offer

Initially, Barcelona made an offer of €300,000 for Domenech, but this was rejected by Mallorca. The reason for the rejection is tied to Domenech’s release clause, which stands at €1 million.

This clause will increase to €3 million if Domenech progresses to the reserve team. Consequently, Mallorca felt that the €300,000 offer was insufficient.

Despite the rejection, however, Barcelona have not given up on Domenech. While it was initially suggested that their first offer was final, the club’s interest in the young forward remains strong.

They are now prepared to continue negotiations, which have been ongoing for several months and are aware that they need to improve their offer to secure Domenech.

Barcelona have now increased their offer, which includes a higher fixed amount as well as various performance-based variables. They are currently waiting for a response from Mallorca.

At the same time, Mallorca have begun discussions with Domenech’s representatives about a potential contract renewal, as Barça are not the only club interested in the talented forward.

It is suggested that Mallorca are likely to hold firm on Domenech’s release clause, recognizing his potential and goal-scoring prowess.
