Barcelona president Joan Laporta in humorous response to fan wearing Man United jersey

Barcelona president Joan Laporta was involved in a humorous exchange with a young Manchester United supporter on Monday.

Laporta, for his part, is currently in attendance in Orlando, Florida.

As is tradition, the Spanish patron joined Barcelona’s first-team squad and coaching staff, on their trip to the United States, for a pre-season tour.

The Blaugrana are primed to play out a trio of friendly fixtures stateside over the course of the next couple of weeks, against all of Manchester City, Real Madrid, and AC Milan.

Barca’s travelling party touched down in the USA in the early hours of Monday, with the club’s players having since swiftly set about returning to training.

Laporta, in turn, was afforded some free time to meet with fans, making use of the opportunity to sign autographs for some of the Blaugrana’s American supporters.

And, in the midst of as much, on Monday, the Spaniard passed a humorous suggestion onto one young fan in particular.

After spotting the individual in question donning a Manchester United jersey, Laporta suggested:

‘Throw that shirt away, please!’
