After negotiations broke down with Guido Rodriguez, with Barcelona deciding they would go in a different direction, the Blaugrana have been offered a second Argentina international. Roma midfielder Leandro Paredes looks as if he will be able to leave Roma at a reduced price this summer.

The 30-year-old has a year left on his deal at Roma, but is not necessarily part of Daniele de Rossi’s plans, and Sport say that Barcelona have been offered the former Paris Saint-Germain midfielder. While they believe that Paredes is a good player with excellent technical ability, they still have their focus on other options, such as Amadou Onana and Mikel Merino.

Paredes is technically gifted, but similarly to Adrien Rabiot, who was also offered to Barcelona in recent days, he would provide the Blaugrana with another profile that does not contrast what they already have in the middle of the pitch. Sporting Director Deco has shown a clear preference to bring in a more physical option in midfield, and while Paredes is cheap and experienced, is unlikely to raise the level of the team.
