Barcelona take note: Real Madrid learn extent of Vinícius Jr’s ban
Real Madrid have on Tuesday evening learned the extent of the punishment handed down to star attacker Vinícius Jr.
This of course comes on the back of the red card shown to the Brazilian international late last week.
En route to a 2-1 comeback victory for Real Madrid over Valencia, Vinícius was given his marching orders late on, following a VAR check.
This came after the 24-year-old was spotted directing his two hands into the head/neck of Valencia no.1 Stole Dimitrievski.
After it was initially suggested that Vini could be facing up to a ban in excess of four games for his actions, more recent reports had pointed towards a likely two-game suspension.
And, on Tuesday, precisely as much has been confirmed.
As per a report from Fabrizio Romano:
‘Vinícius Jr has been suspended for the next two games in La Liga.’
As much means that Real’s attacking talisman will be available for this week’s Spanish Super Cup, including a potential finale showdown with Barcelona, before sitting out Los Blancos’ ensuing league games against Las Palmas and Real Valladolid.
